Airplane
Zakynthos International Airport "Dionysios Solomos" (ZTH) is located only about 3.5 to 4.5 kilometers from the port. Especially during the summer months, there are direct flight connections from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, allowing for a convenient arrival. For a relaxed start to your cruise, it is recommended to arrive a day before embarkation to explore the island at your leisure.
Transfer & Shuttle
You can reach the port quickly from Zakynthos Airport (ZTH). Taxis offer the fastest connection in about 4 to 9 minutes for approximately 5 to 7 Euro. Alternatively, public buses (KTEL) run several times a day between the airport and the city center/port, with a travel time of around 20 minutes and costs of about 1 to 2 Euro. In addition, numerous private transfer services are available to take you comfortably and directly to your terminal.
Car & Parking
Arriving with your own car from the DACH region requires a ferry crossing from the Greek mainland, for example from Kyllini, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Roads on Zakynthos are well-developed for exploring the island. Short-term parking is available directly at the port of Zakynthos. For long-term parkers, it is recommended to use the parking facilities in Zakynthos Town, although there are also informal, free parking areas near the harbor which can fill up quickly during high season. Furthermore, it is possible to drive directly to the ferry terminal for embarkation. Rental cars are conveniently available at the airport and offer maximum flexibility on-site.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time – depending on the cruise line and destination area – is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
