Car
You can reach Lutherstadt Wittenberg comfortably via the A9 motorway (Berlin-Leipzig) using the Coswig exit; from there, follow the signs to Wittenberg. From the direction of Berlin, the B2 federal road is also a good option. In Wittenberg itself, various parking options are available in close proximity to the old town and the riverbank. For longer stays, some local providers and guesthouses also offer "Park & Bike" deals, which provide secure parking for your car during the cruise.
Train
Lutherstadt Wittenberg main station is very well connected to the German rail network and allows for convenient arrival from all directions. From there, you can quickly reach the old town and the river cruise docks in Kleinwittenberg by local bus or a short taxi transfer. Alternatively, there is the Altstadt stop, which is even closer to the center.
Airplane
The nearest airport is Leipzig/Halle (LEJ), located approximately 58 to 74 kilometers from Wittenberg. Onward travel from the airport is flexible: direct train connections to Lutherstadt Wittenberg main station usually require a change at Leipzig main station and take about 54 minutes to 1 hour and 5 minutes. For a more direct arrival, taxis and various private transfer services are available to take you directly to the port in about an hour. To ensure a relaxed start to your river cruise, we recommend arriving the day before when traveling by air.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that your travel documents will usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The following also applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as mooring and departure times may change at short notice.
