Port information & tips for Warnemünde

Warnemünde is the picturesque gateway to the Baltic Sea and stands out as one of Germany's most popular cruise ports with its charming, maritime character. Located directly at the mouth of the Warnow, this former fishing village welcomes its guests with a relaxed atmosphere, fine sandy beaches, and the soothing sound of the waves. Highlights in the immediate vicinity include the striking ensemble of the historical lighthouse and the architecturally unique Teepott, as well as the lively "Alter Strom" promenade with its traditional fishing boats. Cruise ships dock at the modern Warnemünde Cruise Center, which is excellently located directly in the town center and enables a comfortable exploration on foot thanks to its immediate proximity to the train station and the beach promenade.

Warnemünde stands out as one of the most important German cruise ports thanks to its excellent infrastructure and its immediate proximity to the Baltic Sea beach. The modern terminals of the Warnemünde Cruise Center enable an uncomplicated arrival and a direct transition to the ship thanks to their central location.

Car

Via the A19 motorway from the direction of Berlin as well as the A20, you can reach Warnemünde quickly and simply follow the signs to the Passagierkai. For cruise guests, specialized Park & Cruise providers such as Parken am Meer are available, offering guarded parking spaces including convenient luggage transfer or shuttle service to the terminal. In addition, the Parkhaus am Molenfeuer offers parking spaces within direct walking distance of berths P7 and P8.

Train

Warnemünde station is located within direct sight of the cruise ships and offers one of the most comfortable arrival options in Germany. Long-distance trains such as the ICE or IC lead directly to Rostock Hauptbahnhof, from where the S-Bahn runs at frequent intervals in just 20 minutes to the final stop, Warnemünde. From there, you can reach the terminal comfortably on foot in about five minutes, as the platform borders almost directly on the Warnemünde Cruise Center.

Airplane & Transfer

Rostock-Laage Airport (RLG) is located about 45 kilometers south of the port and is served seasonally with special charter flights for cruise guests. Travelers from Switzerland or Austria also use the international airports of Berlin (BER) or Hamburg (HAM) and reach the terminal from there in about two to two and a half hours by rental car, train, or via the organized transfer services of the cruise lines. Due to the travel time, an overnight stay in one of the hotels directly at the Alter Strom is recommended for flight arrivals from the south in order to start the vacation relaxed.
