The cruise port of Rendsburg on the Kiel Canal is a charming destination for river and canal cruises and, thanks to its central location in Schleswig-Holstein, is easily accessible from the DACH region. Car
Rendsburg is excellently connected to the German motorway network. Via the A7 and A210 motorways, you can reach the port quickly from all directions in Germany. The A7 is a central north-south axis that enables a convenient journey from Hamburg or Denmark, for example. The Rendsburg Kreishafen, which is also used for cruises, benefits from this direct connection. Public parking is available on-site; for longer trips, it is recommended to use local multi-storey car parks or to coordinate with the respective tour operator regarding special long-term parking spaces.
Train
Rendsburg station is well integrated into the regional rail network and offers connections, often with a change in Neumünster or Hamburg, to destinations throughout Germany. After your arrival at Rendsburg station, you can easily reach the pier in a short time by taxi or local bus connections. The distances are manageable, ensuring a relaxed onward journey to the ship.
Airplane
The nearest major international airport is Hamburg Airport (HAM), located about 100 kilometers south of Rendsburg, offering numerous direct flights from the DACH region. Onward travel from Hamburg to Rendsburg is possible by train (via Hamburg Hbf and Neumünster) or bus and takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Alternatively, Kiel Airport (KEL), about 30 kilometers away, may be an option for private or charter flights, although Hamburg is the best choice for regular scheduled flights. Due to the transfer time, it is recommended to start your journey the day before if arriving by plane to ensure you are well-rested and on time for embarkation in Rendsburg.
