Oberwesel, nestled in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley, welcomes river cruise passengers at centrally located piers directly on the banks of the Rhine. The town is easily accessible by car as well as by public transport, and the town center can be explored on foot from the ship.

Car

The journey to Oberwesel is convenient via the B9 federal road, which runs directly through the town. In addition, the region is well connected to the A61 motorway, with exits such as "Laudert" or "Pfalzfeld" just a few kilometers away. Various public parking options are available for cruise guests, including a P+R parking lot at the station and other parking areas along the B9. For longer parking durations during your cruise, the parking lots at the bus station or the school center are recommended. It is advisable to note that parking spaces in the town center are limited.

Train

Oberwesel (Rhein) station is a relevant arrival point for river cruise passengers and is located on the West Rhine Railway. It is served by the MittelrheinBahn and the RegionalExpress, offering good connections from the direction of Koblenz and Mainz. From the station, you can reach the cruise ship piers in Oberwesel comfortably in just a few minutes on foot.

Airplane

For a convenient arrival by air, Frankfurt am Main International Airport (FRA) is the ideal choice. It is located approximately 76 kilometers from Oberwesel, and the travel time by car or private transfer is about one hour. There are also good train connections from Frankfurt Airport to Oberwesel (Rhein) station, with travel times ranging between one hour and 19 minutes and one hour and 24 minutes, often requiring one change. For international guests, we recommend arriving at least one day before embarkation to start the river cruise in a relaxed manner.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and consider that the latest embarkation time – depending on the cruise line and destination – is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the latest announcements and the notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
