Cultural and natural highlights in the nearby area include the historic Fort San Felipe, Ocean World Adventure Park, and the impressive 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua. Cruise ships dock directly at the modern Amber Cove Cruise Center, from where the center of Puerto Plata, approximately twelve kilometers away, can be reached comfortably in about twenty minutes thanks to available taxis and shuttles.

Thanks to its direct location on the well-developed coastal road and its proximity to international airports, the journey to the terminal is straightforward and comfortable.
Airplane
For guests from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP) in Puerto Plata is the first choice, located approximately 28 kilometers away. The travel time to the port is around 30 to 45 minutes, and Cibao International Airport (STI) in Santiago, about 75 minutes away, also offers a practical alternative for international flight connections.
Transfer & Shuttle
The easiest way to continue your journey from the airport to the Amber Cove Cruise Center is via the transfer services of the respective cruise line or with licensed taxis. You can reach the terminal directly and safely via the Route 5 highway, with pre-booked private transfers allowing for a particularly relaxed arrival without waiting times at the airport.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight duration and for better acclimatization, an overnight stay in one of the nearby resorts in Maimón or Puerto Plata is a great option.
