Port information & tips for Nassau

Nassau is the vibrant capital of the Bahamas and welcomes guests with an incomparable mix of Caribbean joie de vivre and colonial charm. Its location directly on the crystal-clear, turquoise sea ensures an instant holiday feeling and, thanks to the colorful architecture of the Old Town, provides a picturesque backdrop for every shore excursion. Cultural highlights in the immediate vicinity include the historic Queen’s Staircase, the imposing Fort Fincastle, as well as the lively Straw Market, which invites you to stroll. Cruise ships dock at the extensively modernized Prince George Wharf, known today as Nassau Cruise Port. From this state-of-the-art terminal, travelers can reach the famous Bay Street and the pulsating city center comfortably in just a few minutes' walk.

Nassau Cruise Port in the Bahamas is one of the most modern cruise terminals in the Caribbean and, following an extensive modernization, welcomes travelers with direct access to the colorful capital. Prince George Wharf is centrally located in downtown Nassau and offers space for up to six ships simultaneously.

Airplane

Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) serves as the central hub and is located approximately 16 kilometers west of the port. Guests from the DACH region typically reach the Bahamas via connecting flights through Miami, Atlanta, or London and reach their ship quickly after landing.

Transfer & Taxi

From the airport, you can reach the cruise terminal comfortably by licensed taxis or pre-booked private shuttle services. The travel time to Prince George Wharf is approximately 25 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic; additionally, many cruise lines offer organized bus transfers for a smooth arrival directly at the terminal.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long flight time from Europe and the time difference, arriving at least one day before embarkation is recommended. Accommodations near Cable Beach or on Paradise Island allow for a relaxed start to your vacation and are just a short drive from the port thanks to good connections.
