Port information & tips for Vancouver

Vancouver is the spectacular gateway to the Pacific Northwest and ranks among the most beautiful port cities in the world. The metropolis impresses with its unique location between majestic mountains and the glittering ocean, seamlessly blending urban flair with untouched nature. Highlights such as the historic Gastown district with its famous Steam Clock, the expansive Stanley Park, and the impressive multimedia experience FlyOver Canada are right on the doorstep. Cruise ships dock at the award-winning Canada Place terminal, which is striking for its iconic white sails and is located directly in the city center, allowing travelers to conveniently explore the main sights and exclusive shopping miles on foot or by Skytrain.

The Port of Vancouver at Canada Place is located in the heart of the city and is one of the most modern cruise terminals in North America. Thanks to its central location, you can reach your ship directly at the iconic building with the white sails, which serves as a landmark for the metropolis and combines all important processing services under one roof.

Airplane

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is located about 15 kilometers south of the port and is served by direct flights or convenient connections from Frankfurt, Munich, or Zurich. Getting to the terminal is particularly comfortable with the Canada Line of the SkyTrain, as it takes you directly to Waterfront Station at the port in about 25 minutes; additionally, taxis and ride-sharing services are available for a trip of about 30 to 45 minutes.

Train & Public Transport

The central Waterfront Station is located immediately next to the cruise terminal and serves as the most important hub for the SkyTrain and the West Coast Express. Travelers arriving by long-distance trains at Pacific Central Station can reach the Canada Place terminal easily with a short taxi ride or via the local metro network in just a few minutes, enabling seamless logistics.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the time difference and the long flight duration from the DACH region, arriving at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended. Numerous hotels in Downtown Vancouver are located within walking distance of the terminal and often offer luggage service to the ship, so you can enjoy the start of your cruise to Alaska or Hawaii relaxed and well-rested.
