Cruise port Rosyth (Edinburgh)

The Rosyth cruise port, located on the north side of the Firth of Forth in Fife, serves as a convenient starting point for Scotland cruises and is easily accessible thanks to good transport links and a direct pier. Since ships dock directly at the terminal, convenient embarkation and disembarkation is possible.

Car

Rosyth is optimally connected to the Scottish road network. From the south (e.g. Edinburgh), follow signs for the Queensferry Crossing and the M90 towards Perth. After crossing the bridge, take the first exit and follow the signs for the Port of Rosyth. Travelers from the north use the M90 to exit J1B (Inverkeithing/North Queensferry, B981), while arrival from the west (e.g. Glasgow) is via the M8 and then also via the Queensferry Crossing. Alternatively, the A985 leads from Kincardine Bridge directly to Rosyth. Use postcode KY11 2XP for navigation. Limited parking is available directly at the terminal and must be booked in advance through your cruise line. Costs are approximately 15 to 16 GBP per night. Luggage drop-off at the terminal is easily possible, after which you will be directed to the parking area.

Train

The nearest and most convenient train station is Inverkeithing, which is ideal for arriving by rail. From Edinburgh Waverley, you can reach Inverkeithing in about 25 to 30 minutes with regular trains running every 10 to 15 minutes. A day ticket costs approximately 7.30 GBP. From Inverkeithing station, a taxi will take you to the cruise terminal in about 10 minutes. The taxi ride costs approximately 8 to 10 GBP for up to four people. Occasionally, cruise lines also offer shuttle buses.

Airplane

Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is the nearest international airport and is located about 19 to 20 kilometers from Rosyth. Transfer time by taxi is approximately 16 minutes, with costs of about 28 to 35 GBP. There are also direct bus connections (e.g. Stagecoach Line 747) from the airport to Ferrytoll Park & Ride, from where a short taxi ride to the terminal is necessary. This bus journey takes about 23 to 31 minutes and costs 5 to 8 GBP. For a relaxed arrival from the DACH region, we recommend staying overnight in Edinburgh the day before the cruise to explore the Scottish capital and reach the port stress-free on embarkation day.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
