From this central point, guests can easily reach the city center of Waterford, about 15 kilometers away, by organized shuttles or taxis, while also being able to discover the relaxed mood of the village directly on foot.

Car

Dunmore East is accessible via well-maintained roads. From the Dublin area, the M9 leads directly to Waterford City; from Cork, take the N25 into the region. Public parking is available in the village, but there are no specific Park & Cruise offers for long-term parkers, as it is a tender port.

Train

The nearest major train station is Waterford Plunkett Station (Waterford Ceannt). From there, there are convenient bus connections to Dunmore East, for example with lines 354 or 358 from Bus Éireann or TFI Local Link. The journey takes about 21 to 26 minutes, and buses usually run every two to three hours. Alternatively, a taxi will take you directly to the harbor in about 19 to 20 minutes.

Airplane

For international arrivals from the DACH region, Dublin Airport (DUB) or Cork Airport (ORK) are suitable options. Dublin Airport (DUB) is approximately 150 to 192 kilometers away, with a driving time of around two hours. Cork Airport (ORK) is approximately 107 to 130 kilometers away and can be reached in about 1 hour 52 minutes to 2 hours. Although Waterford Airport (WAT) is only about 8 to 9 kilometers away, it currently does not offer scheduled flights. Due to the longer travel times, an overnight stay in a pre-cruise hotel in Waterford City is recommended for international flights to start your cruise relaxed. Bus connections from both airports to Waterford City and onwards to Dunmore East are available (total travel time approx. 3h 20m to 4h 49m), as well as convenient private taxi and transfer services.
