Returning to the ship

Sundsvall, the charming "Stone City" on the coast of Northern Sweden, welcomes cruise guests at its primarily industrial Tunadal Port. This is located approximately 2 to 5.5 kilometers northeast of the city center, which is why a shuttle bus or taxi is recommended for the transfer to the downtown area.

Car

The European route E4 leads directly through Sundsvall and offers a comfortable connection for travelers from the DACH region. The journey is easily possible thanks to Sweden's good infrastructure. Specific "Park & Cruise" offers for long-term parkers at the cruise terminal are not widespread in Sundsvall; however, general parking options and occasional free spaces can be found in the city, from which the terminal can be reached by taxi. It is recommended to check local parking garages or private parking providers for the duration of the cruise.

Train

Sundsvall's central station (Sundsvall C) is ideally located in the heart of the city, close to the harbor and numerous hotels. It is an important transport hub with regular connections, including to Stockholm. From the station, you can comfortably reach the cruise terminal at Tunadal Port in just a few minutes by taxi. Local bus connections are also integrated from the station into the city.

Airplane

The nearest airport is Sundsvall-Timrå Airport (SDL), located about 16 to 21 kilometers north of the city center. This regional airport offers daily flight connections to Stockholm Arlanda International Airport (ARN), enabling a convenient journey from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with a transfer. Various transfer options are available from Sundsvall-Timrå Airport: taxis will take you to the port or city center in about 20 minutes, with costs ranging from approximately 450 to 600 Swedish Krona (SEK). Alternatively, local bus lines (e.g., lines 201 and 202) as well as airport buses (Flygbuss) operate, reaching the city center in about 30 minutes.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally about one hour before the scheduled departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
