Returning to the ship

Sa Dec is a charming river port in Vietnam's Mekong Delta and serves as an important port of call for Mekong river cruises. The city is known for its blooming flower fields and charming colonial architecture and is typically reached via Fly & Cruise, with embarkation taking place directly in the city center.

Airplane

For guests from the DACH region, Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City is the primary point of arrival. This is located approximately 140 to 175 kilometers from Sa Dec. A closer alternative is Can Tho International Airport (VCA), which is situated around 51 kilometers southeast of Sa Dec and can be reached from Ho Chi Minh City via domestic flights.

Transfer & Shuttle

From Ho Chi Minh City, you can easily reach the Sa Dec bus station using buses from renowned providers such as Futa Bus Lines (Phuong Trang). The journey takes about 3 to 4 hours and is a cost-effective option. Private taxis or rental cars also offer a flexible and direct arrival from Ho Chi Minh City in approximately 1 hour 43 minutes. From Can Tho Airport, Sa Dec is accessible by taxi in about 48 minutes to 1.5 hours. For river cruise passengers, transfer services are often organized by the cruise lines directly from the airport or a meeting point to the river ship.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long journey from the DACH region and the transfer to the river port, an overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho on the day before embarkation is recommended. This allows for a relaxed start to your cruise and simultaneously provides the opportunity to explore the vibrant cities of the Mekong Delta before your adventure on the river begins.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and consider that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
