Port information & tips for Laem Chabang

Laem Chabang is Thailand's most important seaport and serves as a premier gateway to the vibrant metropolis of Bangkok as well as the lively coastal resort of Pattaya. The port on the Gulf of Thailand impresses with its efficient infrastructure and conveys an expectant travel atmosphere thanks to its tropical surroundings and proximity to cultural treasures. Highlights in the immediate vicinity include the impressive Sanctuary of Truth, a monumental wooden structure directly by the sea, and the extensive Nong Nooch Tropical Garden with its botanical diversity. Cruise ships dock at the modern Laem Chabang International Terminal, from where travelers can reach Pattaya in around 30 minutes while also benefiting from the convenient, approximately two-hour connection to the heart of Bangkok.

The port of Laem Chabang is considered the central maritime gateway to the Thai metropolis of Bangkok and can be reached efficiently thanks to its strategic location on the Gulf of Thailand. Modern Terminal A offers professional processing for cruise guests, while the connection to the Thai highway network enables direct onward travel to the surrounding regions.

Airplane

Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) is the most important arrival point for travelers from the DACH region and is served directly from Frankfurt, Munich, and Zurich. From there, you can reach the cruise port, located about 100 kilometers away, comfortably via the modern Motorway 7 in a driving time of approximately 90 to 120 minutes.

Transfer & Shuttle

For a relaxed journey to the terminal, guests are best advised to use private transfer services or the organized shuttle buses provided by the cruise lines, which ensure direct transport from the airport or from Bangkok city center. The journey takes place via well-developed highways, with professional chauffeurs handling navigation through the port area and taking guests directly to their ship.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Thanks to the proximity to the popular coastal resort of Pattaya, located only about 25 kilometers to the south, an overnight stay before embarkation is recommended to minimize the effects of the long flight time and time difference. Alternatively, a pre-cruise stay in Bangkok allows you to get to know the Thai capital before the journey begins the next day with an approximately two-hour drive to the port.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The following also applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the latest announcements as well as the notices on board, as berthing and departure times may change at short notice.
