Port information & tips for Hundred Islands
The Hundred Islands National Park in Pangasinan province is a fascinating natural wonder of the Philippines and inspires with its unique island world. In the middle of the azure Lingayen Gulf, over one hundred emerald-green limestone islands rise from the crystal-clear water, providing a paradise-like backdrop for nature lovers and adventurers alike. Absolute highlights include the spectacular panoramic view from Governor’s Island, the dreamlike beaches of Quezon Island, and the impressive giant clam sanctuary. Cruise ships usually anchor off the coast, while guests arrive by tender boat at Lucap Wharf in Alaminos City. From this central starting point, the lively city center of Alaminos is only about five kilometers away and easily accessible thanks to local transportation such as the typical tricycles.
The port of the Hundred Islands, located in Alaminos City in the province of Pangasinan in the Philippines, is primarily a starting point for fascinating island explorations and is traditionally reached by guests from the DACH region via Fly & Cruise in combination with a longer overland journey. Due to the long distances and international flight times, arriving at least one day before embarkation is strongly recommended.
Airplane
The nearest international airports are Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila, approximately 220 kilometers away, and Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga, about 160 kilometers away. Both airports offer connections to international hubs. From there, the onward journey to the port usually takes place by land. Alaminos Airport (ALA) is a smaller airfield that does not offer regular commercial flights; therefore, arriving via the larger airports and subsequent land transfer is the most common option.
Transfer & Shuttle
After landing in Manila (MNL) or Clark (CRK), the best way to reach Alaminos City and the starting point for the Hundred Islands is by bus or private transfer. From Manila, bus companies such as Victory Liner and Five Star Bus offer direct connections to Alaminos City, with the journey taking about 4-6 hours depending on traffic. Private transfers or shuttle services, which can often be booked through tour operators or hotels, offer more comfort and are an efficient way to cover the distance directly and conveniently reach the terminal at Lucap Wharf.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
An overnight stay near the Hundred Islands, ideally in Alaminos City itself or in Manila if the arrival is too late for a direct transfer, is advisable for a relaxed start to your cruise experience. Many hotels in Alaminos City also provide support in organizing island tours and transfers to Lucap Wharf, the main pier for Hundred Islands tours. This allows for acclimatization and saves stress on embarkation day.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that your travel documents usually provide a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
