Cairns International Airport (CNS) is well-connected and offers connections, often with a stopover, from Europe. From there, you can easily reach your cruise ship.
Onward journey to the island (by ship)
The picturesque Kiriwina Island can only be reached as part of your booked cruise. The island has no infrastructure for independent travel by car or train for international tourists. Local connections to Losuia Airport (LSA) on Kiriwina primarily serve domestic travel within Papua New Guinea and are not relevant for traveling to the start of a cruise to Kiriwina. Your cruise ship will bring you directly and comfortably to the anchorage off the island.
Pre-cruise stay in the departure port
