Airplane
Penang International Airport (PEN) is located approximately 18 kilometers south of the cruise terminal and is served via hubs such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, or Bangkok from all major airports in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Depending on traffic, the journey to Swettenham Pier takes about 30 to 45 minutes by taxi or a ride-hailing service like Grab, leading comfortably along the well-developed coastal road directly into the heart of the island's capital.
Train & Ferry
Travelers arriving from the Malaysian mainland use the modern Butterworth railway station, which is directly connected to Kuala Lumpur by fast ETS trains. From the station, a short path leads to the ferry terminal, from where passenger ferries regularly cross to the Raja Tun Uda Terminal in George Town, which is within easy walking distance of the Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal.

Due to the long flight duration from the DACH region and the time difference, arriving at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended.
