The Port of Fukuoka, known as Hakata Port, is considered one of Japan's most important gateways and impresses with its state-of-the-art infrastructure featuring two central docking points: Chuo Wharf and Hakata Cruise Terminal. Thanks to its direct proximity to the city center and first-class transport links, accessibility for international guests is extremely convenient.
Airplane
Fukuoka International Airport (FUK) is unusually close to the city center, located only about 6 to 10 kilometers from the cruise terminals. Travelers from the DACH region can easily reach the port via connecting flights through Tokyo-Haneda or Seoul and then reach the ship in around 20 minutes by taxi or via a combination of subway and bus.
Train
Hakata Station serves as the central hub for Shinkansen high-speed trains, connecting Fukuoka directly with cities such as Osaka, Kyoto, or Tokyo. From the station, you can reach the terminals in about 15 minutes thanks to excellent bus connections on the Nishitetsu lines or by taxi, making a combined Japan tour before the cruise particularly easy.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight duration from Europe and the time difference, arriving at least one day before embarkation is recommended. Many high-quality hotels in the Tenjin or Hakata districts offer ideal accommodation and are located within direct reach of the terminals, allowing you to enjoy short transfer routes after a relaxed breakfast on embarkation day.
