Returning to the ship
The port that serves as the gateway to Kenanga Village is Pangkalpinang on the island of Bangka. This port is an important regional hub and is optimally connected via the nearby airport, allowing for a comfortable journey, especially by plane.
Airplane
Travel from the DACH region is primarily by plane with a long-haul flight to Jakarta (CGK), followed by a domestic flight to Depati Amir Airport (PGK) in Pangkalpinang. Depati Amir Airport is the only airport on Bangka Island and offers numerous daily connections from Jakarta. For a relaxed arrival, it is recommended to book a flight that allows sufficient transfer time in Jakarta.
Transfer to the Port
Depati Amir Airport (PGK) is located only about 5 kilometers from the city center of Pangkalpinang. Taxis and local ride-hailing services such as Gojek or Grab are available directly at the airport and will take you to the port or your pre-cruise hotel in approximately 15 to 25 minutes. The cost for this trip is typically between 50,000 and 100,000 Indonesian Rupiah, representing an affordable and comfortable option. The main passenger port is the Port of Pangkal Balam, from where you will begin your cruise.
Pre-arrival Recommended
Due to the long flight time from the DACH region and the necessary domestic connection to Pangkalpinang, arriving at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended. An overnight stay in a hotel in Pangkalpinang allows you to start your cruise refreshed and stress-free while enjoying the local atmosphere in advance. The charming coastal towns around Pangkalpinang, including Kenanga Village, are easily accessible from there as part of excursions.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
