Cruise port Tianjin

The modern Tianjin International Cruise Home Port, often used as the gateway to the Chinese capital Beijing, is an important port of call for international cruises. Due to its location, traveling from the DACH region requires good planning, but the port is easily accessible thanks to a wide range of transfer options and a well-thought-out infrastructure. With two spacious berths, even the largest cruise ships can be handled simultaneously, and the terminal offers comprehensive services.

Airplane

For guests from the DACH region, traveling by plane is the most common option. Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) are the primary international airports served from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The port is about 170 to 180 kilometers away from Beijing, with a travel time of around 2 to 3 hours under normal conditions. Tianjin Binhai International Airport (TSN) is the closest airport to the port itself, about 76 kilometers away, and also offers transfer options. Arriving at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended due to the long flight and transfer times, ensuring a relaxed start to the cruise.

Transfer & Shuttle

Various convenient transfer options are available from Beijing Airport to the Tianjin International Cruise Home Port. Private transfers with experienced drivers are a comfortable and stress-free door-to-door option, often including bottled water. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle bus from Beijing Capital Airport to Beijing South Railway Station (approx. 70-80 minutes). From there, high-speed trains run to Binhai Railway Station, the closest high-speed railway station to the port (approx. 50-70 minutes). From Binhai Railway Station, you can reach the terminal directly by bus (Line 513) or taxi. Taxi rides to the port are also possible from Tianjin Railway Station (approx. 50 km) or Tanggu Railway Station (approx. 35 km). Long-term parking spaces are available at the cruise terminal for self-drivers (e.g., 30 RMB per night for cars).

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long journey from the DACH region and the distance of the port from Beijing, a pre-cruise hotel is highly recommended for a relaxed embarkation. Many travelers choose to stay overnight in Beijing to explore the capital before transferring to the port on embarkation day. In Beijing, it is advisable to book a hotel near Beijing South Railway Station to facilitate the train connection to the port. Alternatively, there are hotels in the immediate vicinity of the Tianjin International Cruise Home Port, such as the Holiday Inn Tianjin Binhai or the Holiday Inn Express Tianjin Binhai, which are only a few kilometers away and allow for a quick journey on embarkation day.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and bear in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the cruise: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always check the current announcements and notices on board, as berthing and departure times can change at short notice.
