About TransOcean Cruises
Every xear approximately 80,000 people travel with the fleet of TransOcean Cruises which belongs to CMV Holdings London Ltd.. As the onboard language varies from ship to ship between English and German the nationalities vary as well. The small size of the ships with up to 1,400 passengers characterizes the fleet very well.
Vasco da Gama
Originally the ship was built as Statendam for Holland America Line in 1993. After that the ship changed to P&O Australia and was named Pacific Eden. Since April 2019 Vasco da Gama has started its service for TransOcean Cruises and hosts maximum 1,150 passengers. The Promenade deck is one of the most popular places aboard because people like to make a walk around the ship. It is also a nice place to watch the sail away.

Vasco da Gama staterooms
Most of the staterooms are oceanview staterooms. Some of them have a balcony as well. Regardless of the category all staterooms are equipped with an air condition, a tv, a radio and telephone, a hair dryer and a safe. The staterooms are furnished comfortably and the size varies between approximately 16 and 101 sqm. Guests who booked a suite benefit from additional services like a priority check-in, fresh fruits and a laundry service.
Atmosphere on board of Vasco da Gama
Due to the ship's size and the familiar atmosphere the guests feel very comfortable. The dress code is informal except of one or two gala evenings per week where formal cloths are recommended. Most of the passengers speak German and during the German school holidays there are also some children.
Vasco da Gama restaurants
The guests select their dining time and table completely individually in the main restaurant Waterfront. There are no fixed dining times. For lunch and dinner several course menus are served. There are different areas like Classic, Eurasia and Mediterranean in the Waterfront Restaurant. The buffet restaurant is called Club Bistro. The friendly crew members are going to give you the single dishes at different stations and live counters. In addition to the Waterfront Restaurant and the Club Bistro there is the Alfresco Grill where tasty pizza, burgers and hot dogs are offered. For special occasions we recommend to reserve a table in the specialty restaurant The Grill or at the Chef's Table. The food and drinks are served for a surcharge.
Entertainment, sports & wellness
At the upper decks there are different entertainment facilities like the Hollywood's for the presentation of shows, the Auditorium, the Captain's Club and different shops. The fitness center and the wellness area Jade Wellness are located at the Lido deck. Different wellness treatments can be booked for an additional fee. Besides the fitness center there is a big outside area with two sports fields for different games. The pool area of the Lido deck is covered with a glass roof which can be opened in good weather conditions.
Vasco da Gama is highly recommended for young hearted couples who put their focus on the destination and like to experience a relaxed and classic cruise. According to the nice inside and outside facilities the ship is a good choice for changeable weather conditions as well.
