Utopia of the Seas from Royal Caribbean : Everything you need to know

The Utopia of the Seas is the sixth ship in the "Oasis class" and belongs to the world's largest cruise ships. It is the first ship in the class powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas) and it uses the latest technology to reduce emissions and save energy. On board you will find a combination of the characteristic features and many new activities and experiences for guests of all ages. In July 2024, the Utopia of the Seas was christened by Meghan Trainor.

Utopia of the Seas staterooms

The stateroom of the Utopia of the Seas are modern and comfortably furnished and offer enough space to feel at home. In addition to the interior and oceanview staterooms, you can choose between a balcony with ocean view, a view of the Boardwalk or Central Park. In the various suite categories, you can not only expect luxury, but also enjoy exclusive benefits. The Solarium Suite is new and unique on board Utopia of the Seas and impresses with a 280-degree view. The Ultimate Family Suite is especially for families and offers plenty of space for up to 10 guests with three bedrooms. Special features await in the suite, such as its own cinema and a karaoke station. There is also a corner balcony with a table tennis table and a private jacuzzi with a magnificent view.

Atmosphere on board the Utopia of the Seas

Utopia of the Seas is a ship for all ages, with guests who appreciate a full range of entertainment and activities getting their money's worth. The guests are international, with a majority of American guests. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, with festive attire expected in the main restaurant on some evenings. However, if you prefer more casual dining, you can choose to dine at other restaurants on such evenings.

Utopia of the Seas Restaurants, bars & lounges

The culinary offer on board includes numerous restaurants, cafés, lounges and bars, where every guest will find what they are looking for. A culinary variety awaits you, ranging from traditional to modern dishes. While the main and buffet restaurants with international cuisine are already included in the price, there is an additional charge for the speciality restaurants.

The following restaurants are already included in the price:

  • Windjammer (buffet): Help yourself to the buffet in the Windjammer, where you are offered tempting dishes from all over the world.
  • Solarium Bistro (buffet): You will find a wide selection of Mediterranean dishes in the Solarium Bistro.
  • Café Promenade: Café Promenade is the perfect opportunity for a quick and easy meal.
  • Park Café: Crisp salads, fresh deli classics as well as paninis and sandwiches can be found here.
  • Dining Room: Let the Dining Room expand your culinary horizons with a three-course meal from international cuisines.
  • Sorrento's Pizza: Late into the night, here you have the option of a delicious slice of pizza.
  • Boardwalk Dog House: At the Dog House you will find a wide variety of hot dogs.
  • El Loco Fresh: If you want Mexican food, El Loco Fresh is the place for you.
  • Coastal Kitchen: Exclusive to suite guests, Coastal Kitchen combines Mediterranean influences with farm-fresh flavors from California.

You pay a surcharge in the following restaurants:

  • Royal Railway - Utopia Station: The Royal Railway - Utopia Station offers a special experience: enjoy your aperitif on the "train platform" and board the replica train carriage for dinner to experience a culinary journey.
  • 150 Central Park: Delicious three courses of locally sourced ingredients await you at 150 Central Park.
  • Chops Grille: First-class meat is on offer in this classic American steakhouse.
  • Chef's Table: For the foodies, a luxurious five-course meal awaits you in an exclusive and private atmosphere.
  • The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar (surcharge): Discover southern cuisine at the Mason Jar Southern Restaurant.
  • Hooked Seafood: A variety of New England-style seafood awaits you at this specialty restaurant.
  • Johnny Rockets: Timeless classics such as burgers, milkshakes and fries are served here.
  • Giovanni's Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar: Sample traditional Italian dishes.
  • Izumi Hibachi & Sushi: Enjoy delicious teppanyaki and fresh sushi.

For small snacks in between meals, there is The Spare Tire (included in the price), a food truck where you can fortify yourself with delicious sandwiches, nachos and much more. You can enjoy a refreshment at Sprinkles (also included), a popular ice cream parlor that has been specially expanded.

Round off the day in one of the numerous bars and lounges (not included), e.g. with a cool drink accompanied by live Caribbean music in The Lime and Coconut Bar or in Pesky Parrot. Try different types of beer at the English Pub or enjoy fine wines in the Giovann's Wine Bar. As with all other services on board, a service surcharge is added to the drinks prices.

Entertainment, sports & relaxation

In addition to 5 pools, 8 whirlpools and 18 slides on board and on the private island of Coco Cay, the Utopia of the Seas offers a variety of other spectacular attractions for young and old. Muster up all your courage and dare to go down the longest dry slide at sea, the Ultimate Abyss. You can try out surfing on the 12-metre-long FlowRider surf simulator or whizz across the boardwalk at dizzying heights on the zip line. Of course, you also have the opportunity to visit the classic fitness studio and take part in the extensive range of courses on offer or simply indulge yourself in the wellness area (some treatments for a fee). In the evening, you can look forward to fun live performances in the Comedy Club "The Attic" and sensational acrobatics and shows in the Aqua Theatre on board.
