Royal Caribbean International was founded in 1968 and is the second largest cruise company in the world. All ships offer the latest technology and extraordinary experiences with itineraries to 240 destinations in 61 countries, including Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas "Perfect Day at CocoCay". The Star of the Seas is currently being built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Turku, Finland. It is the second ship in the Icon class. The Star of the Seas, like her sister ship Icon of the Seas, is fuelled by LNG (environmentally friendly liquefied natural gas) and therefore uses the latest technology to reduce emissions and save energy. The ship offers many familiar and new activities and experiences for guests of all ages, such as the largest water park at sea with six slides or the FlowRider surf simulator. On board you will also find unrivalled opportunities to relax.

The Star of the Seas has dual-fuel engines, which are preferably fuelled by the environmentally friendly natural gas LNG. It is not yet clear whether fuel cell technology will also be used.

In some of the largest staterooms Royal Caribbean has ever designed, you can enjoy the extra space or fresh breeze at the touch of a button in the spacious Infinite staterooms. In addition to inside and outside staterooms ranging in size from approximately 14 square metres to 17 square metres, you have the choice of ocean view, Central Park view or Surfside family staterooms with approximately 37 square metres. The Ultimate Family Townhouse has three levels and offers you a superlative VIP stay. It not only impresses with a size of approx. 164.5 square metres, but also with special features such as its own slide or table tennis table. The Star of the Seas is a ship for all age groups, whereby guests who appreciate a comprehensive range of entertainment and activities are particularly well catered for. The clientele is international with a majority of American guests. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and on some evenings formal dress is expected in the main restaurant. However, if you prefer a more casual atmosphere, you can switch to other restaurants on such evenings. The Star of the Seas has eight so-called "neighbourhoods", each of which offers different entertainment or relaxation options, such as the "Surfside" neighbourhood - a district especially for families.

The culinary offer on board includes approx. 21 restaurants, cafés, lounges and bars, where every guest will find what they are looking for. A culinary variety awaits you, ranging from traditional to modern dishes. While the main and buffet restaurants with international cuisine are already included in the price, there is an additional charge for the specialty restaurants. End the day with a cool drink accompanied by Caribbean live music, for example in "The Lime and Coconut Bar", or order a drink in the first floating bar "Swim & Tonic". As for all other services on board, a service surcharge is added to the drink prices.

The Star of the Seas offers spectacular attractions for young and old, such as the water park at sea with a total of six slides.

Muster up all your courage and conquer the Crown's Edge, a test of courage that no one has ever dared to attempt high above the ocean. You can choose between seven different pools and ten whirlpools. The Cloud 17 Pool is the pool oasis for adults only or marvel at the floating infinity pool "The Hideaway" high up in the air. In the Lime & Coconut Bar, which extends over several levels, you can enjoy frozen cocktails, among other things.

The neighbourhood "Surfside" is a family-friendly area full of activities and fun. The expansive Splashaway Bay Aquapark features a giant water bucket shower, fountains and slides. Take on a new challenging obstacle on the climbing wall, the Adrenaline Peak, or play a round on the mini golf course. Of course, you also have the opportunity to visit the classic fitness studio or indulge yourself in the wellness and spa area (some treatments for a fee). In the evening, you can marvel at great shows under an enchanting towering waterfall in the AquaDome. The Absolute Zero, the largest ice arena at sea, is the setting for some marvellous tricks.

The Star of the Seas is just right for those who want to experience lots of new and exciting things and plenty of action not only on land, but also on board.
