Royal Caribbean International's Serenade of the Seas is part of the Radiance class and entered service in 2003. It was built in the Meyer Shipyard in Germany. Typical of this ship class is its bright and friendly design, which is supported by large windows and generous interior areas. A wide entertainment program, varied food and an international flair characterize this white ocean liner. The last modernization of the Serenade of the Seas was completed at the end of 2012.

Royal Caribbean International is a brand with an incredible history and unlimited potential. The cruise line not only sets new standards by the size of the ships, but also by its degree of innovation. Especially the entertainment programm on their vessels is a new invention. The ships are convincing due to a variety of sport offers and leisure activities for every age group. Particularly the outdoor area offers great experiences with ice rinks or zip lines. However not only the big vessels, but also the smaller ones offer plenty options to have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. In the different restaurants you expect tasty dishes combined with an attentive service. On board, all age groups feel at home. Due to the company's heritage a basic knowledge in English is recommended. Another thing to take into considerations is that the additional costs are higher than on German ships.

Staterooms

As on all ships of the cruise lines, the cabins aboard the Serenade of the Seas are very appealing and comfortable, providing an ideal retreat during your trip. You have the choice between all common cabin types, from the inside to outside and balcony cabins, to the luxurious suites. Here every guest will find the right cabin for themselves. Families can look forward to baby-friendly cabins and extra family cabins with connecting doors. All cabins come with free 24-hour cabin service.

Atmosphere on Board

Like all Royal Caribbean International ships, the Serenade of the Seas offers something for all ages. The audience is international, with mostly American guests. Guests who appreciate the extensive entertainment program aboard the Serenade of the Seas will feel particularly comfortable. Overall, the atmosphere is laid back and relaxed, the service is friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. On some evenings, festive attire is expected in the main restaurant. Alternatively, you can switch to other restaurants.

Food and Beverages

The main restaurant spreads over two decks and offers beautiful panoramic views through the meter-high windows. The Windjammer Café offers delicious buffets and also beautiful sea views. Overall, the kitchen is good, tasty and very varied. At an extra cost, a table can be reserved in one of the specialty restaurants that offer special delicacies. Those who prefer an even more private experience can enjoy the Chef's Table, a private gourmet experience with their own chef and sommelier.

Entertainment, Sports and Relaxation

Numerous bars, clubs and lounges invite for a chilled drink and stimulating conversation. It doesn’t matter if you prefer quiet nights, want to enjoy a spectacular show or dance the night away in the disco: on board there is the right program for everyone. There are regular art auctions during the day, compulsory bingo games and lectures on the ports of call, or numerous activities such as a climbing wall, mini-golf or swimming pools. For the active guests or wellness enthusiast, the Vitality Fitness Center and Spa offers a large fitness area with stunning sea views, a pool with relaxation area ("solarium"), numerous courses (partly for a fee) such as yoga or tai chi, sauna and steam room. The spa also offers a variety of pampering and beauty treatments (for a fee).
