Columbus from TransOcean Cruises : Everything you need to know

The MS Columbus has been part of the TransOcean Cruises fleet since April 2017. In general, the ship is comfortably furnished, whereby classic elements from the years of the ship's construction can also be found in part. The heart of the ship is the three-story atrium with numerous stores. In addition to various entertainment options, there are also sports and wellness facilities. The on-board facilities are therefore very diverse, making the young at heart guests of different nationalities feel at home. The on-board language is English, so we recommend a basic knowledge of the English language for a pleasant stay on board.

The brand TransOcean Cruises belongs to CMV Holdings London Ltd.. The tour operator is known for its excellent service aboard the smaller cruise ships. At the moment the fleet consists of four ships with German speaking and international guests.

Columbus staterooms

A very positive aspects about the staterooms aboard is the high amount of single cabins. There are different interior and oceanview staterooms for solo travellers. Regardless of the category all staterooms are equipped with an air condition, a tv, a safe, a minibar and a hair dryer. Guests who select a junior suite can look forward to a welcome present, fresh fruits and breakfast in the stateroom, bath robes, slippers and cosmetics.

Atmosphere on board of Columbus

Aboard a familiar and personal atmosphere surrounds the guests. According to the passenger's group of age the daily program is calm and relaxing. At the daytime the dress code is informal and in the evenings chic. For the special gala nights the dress code is formal and elegant.

MS Columbus restaurant

The main restaurant is the Waterfront Restaurant with à-la-carte service. There are two dining times in the evening and several course menues are served by the friendly crew members. As an alternative there is the buffet restaurant Plantation Bistro. For a surcharge one can visit the specialty restaurants The Grill and Fusion. For these two restaurants where delicious steaks and Indian dishes are offered reservations are recommended.

Entertainment, sport & wellness

The various onboard facilities create many opportunities of entertainment. A popular place during the day is the three-storey Atrium with various shops, bars and lounges. Calmer places are the internet café and the library. In the evening fascinating shows are presented in the Palladium Show Lounge and bar. The sport and wellness area is located at the lowest passenger deck. Apart from the sports offer there are a Thermal Suite, a Day Spa and a hair and beauty salon.

In general one can say that the ship is furnished comfortably and some parts of it remind the guests of the time when the ship was built. The heart of the ship is the three-storey Atrium with its numerous shops. Apart from the entertainment facilities sports and wellness are offered too. The ship's facilities vary a lot and fit ti the young hearted guests of different nationalities.
