Airplane

Nea Anchialos Airport (VOL) is located only 30 kilometers from the terminal and is served during the summer season with direct connections from various European cities. Thessaloniki Airport (SKG), located approximately 215 kilometers away, serves as the most important year-round hub, offering numerous daily direct flights from Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich, and allowing for onward travel by rental car or shuttle in around two hours.

Travelers can reach Volos directly via the central Greek A1 motorway (PATHE) and access the port facilities via well-signposted entrances. Train & Transfer

Makrinitsa – The Balcony of Pelion

The picturesque mountain village of Makrinitsa is reachable by taxi or rental car in about thirty minutes from the port of Volos and, as the "Balcony of Pelion," offers a spectacular panoramic view over the city and the Pagasetic Gulf. Thanks to the well-preserved, traditional architecture with its striking stone houses and the central village square under shady, centuries-old plane trees, you will experience the authentic atmosphere of the region here. The village is ideal for a relaxed stroll through the cobblestone alleys and also features charming cafes as well as small shops with local products such as herbs and honey. Ideally, start your excursion in the early morning to enjoy the special tranquility in the mountains, and plan your return to the port about ninety minutes before departure.

Returning to the ship
