Port information & tips for Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas is the radiant jewel at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California and impresses with its unique combination of dramatic desert landscape and the deep blue Pacific. The location at the meeting point of the Pacific and the Gulf of California creates an exclusive atmosphere characterized by luxury yachts, first-class restaurants, and a lively, maritime flair. Fascinating sights include the iconic rock arch El Arco and the picturesque Playa del Amor, both of which can be reached in just a few minutes thanks to local water taxis. Cruise ships anchor in the protected bay, and guests are brought directly to the terminal in the Marina Cabo San Lucas by tender boats. This central landing point allows immediate access to the waterfront promenade and the city center, both of which can be easily explored on foot.
Cabo San Lucas is a fascinating tender destination at the southern tip of Baja California and welcomes cruise guests at the centrally located harbor basin of the Marina. Thanks to its location right in the heart of the city, the most important sights and beaches are immediately accessible on foot after landing with the tender boats.
Airplane
Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is the primary gateway to the region and is usually reached from the DACH region via US hubs such as Dallas, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. It is located approximately 45 kilometers northeast of the port and offers modern terminals with a variety of services for international travelers.
Transfer & Shuttle
From the airport, you can reach the Marina of Cabo San Lucas in about 45 to 60 minutes via the well-developed Carretera Federal 1. For a comfortable arrival, air-conditioned private transfers, hotel shuttles, and authorized taxis are available to transport travelers safely and quickly to the embarkation point.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight time and the time difference, we recommend arriving at least one day before the start of your cruise. The region offers an excellent selection of hotels directly at the marina or at the famous Medano Beach, allowing guests to start their vacation relaxed and enjoy the local Mexican hospitality.

On Foot
The entire marina and the adjacent city center are easy to explore on foot and can be reached within a few minutes. A wide walkway leads along the harbor directly to numerous restaurants, shops, and the popular Puerto Paraíso shopping center.
Water Taxis (Pangas)
These typical small boats are ready at the piers and will take you quickly to sights such as the famous rock arch, El Arco. They are also the most convenient way to reach the popular swimming beach, Playa El Médano, and offer a magnificent view of the coastline during the ride.
Taxis and Shuttle Buses
Official taxis wait at marked stands around the marina and allow for direct travel to more distant destinations. For longer excursions to the neighboring city of San José del Cabo, modern Ruta del Desierto buses are available, which run regularly along the coastal road.
To make the most of your stay in Cabo San Lucas, we recommend a combination of a short boat tour to the famous stone arch and a relaxed stroll through the lively Marina.
El Arco & Land's End
The striking landmark at the southernmost point of the peninsula is quickly accessible from the harbor thanks to short water taxi rides and offers spectacular views of sea lion colonies and hidden coves at the same time.
Playa El Médano

Marina & Downtown Cabo
The modern harbor promenade forms the pulsating heart of the city and invites you to a varied discovery tour directly after arrival thanks to its diverse shopping opportunities and first-class restaurants.
Playa El Médano
Playa El Médano is the epitome of the relaxed Mexican lifestyle and can be reached from the harbor either via a twenty-minute walk along the lively Marina or very comfortably by water taxi in just a few minutes. This golden sand beach offers excellent infrastructure with first-class beach clubs like "The Office," which provide comfortable loungers and excellent gastronomy directly by the glittering sea. Thanks to its protected location in the bay, the water here is also ideal for swimming and offers a direct view of the spectacular rock formations of Land’s End. It is best to visit the beach in the morning to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere before the big crowds arrive, and plan your return to the tender boat for a stress-free departure at least ninety minutes before casting off.
