Istanbul welcomes cruise guests at the state-of-the-art Galataport in the Karaköy district, which features the world's first underground terminal structure directly on the Bosphorus. Thanks to its central location, the port is excellently integrated into the international transport network and offers travelers from the DACH region a variety of arrival options.

Airplane

Istanbul Airport (IST) is located about 40 kilometers northwest of Galataport and is served directly several times a day from all major hubs such as Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich. Alternatively, Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) on the Asian side, about 55 kilometers away, serves as an important arrival point for many connections. From both airports, you can easily reach the terminal by taxi or pre-booked private transfer in about 60 to 90 minutes, while Havaist shuttle buses also offer regular trips toward the city center.

Car & Parking

Guests arriving by car use the major highways O-1 or O-7 to reach the central Beyoğlu district directly. Galataport has a spacious underground parking garage with around 2,400 spaces, accessible 24/7 via the entrances in Karaköy and Fındıklı. In addition to short-term parking, long-term options are also available, so the vehicle can be parked safely and protected from the elements directly at the terminal during the cruise.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the impressive cultural diversity and the heavy traffic in the metropolis, arriving at least one day before embarkation is recommended. Numerous first-class hotels in the adjacent districts of Karaköy and Galata are within easy walking distance of the terminal, allowing for a relaxed start to the cruise without time pressure. Furthermore, the central location provides the ideal starting point to explore historic landmarks such as the Galata Tower or the Hagia Sophia comfortably on foot or with the nearby T1 tram line.
