The nearest international airport for travelers from the DACH region is Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG). This is located around 143 kilometers from Golubac. Alternatively, you can reach the center of Belgrade from the airport by bus and from there take further bus connections to Golubac, although the total journey including the transfer can take about 3 hours 56 minutes to 4 hours 17 minutes. Given the transfer time, an overnight stay in Belgrade the day before embarkation is recommended for travelers from further away to ensure a relaxed start to your cruise.

Car

Golubac is accessible via well-maintained roads. From Belgrade, take the E-75 motorway to the Požarevac exit and then follow state road 34 directly to Golubac. The driving time from Belgrade is currently around two hours. A new expressway, the Danube Corridor, which will connect Golubac more directly with the E-75, is under construction and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, which will shorten the driving time from Belgrade to about one hour and 15 minutes. In Golubac itself, parking is available in the town, with short-term and long-term parking spaces subject to a fee (e.g. 200 dinars for 24 hours at Dunavski kej) and can be used free of charge on Sundays and public holidays. When visiting Golubac Fortress, the parking fee is often already included in the entrance ticket.

Bus & Train

A direct train connection for international travelers to Golubac is not practical. The most important transport hub is Belgrade, from where you can easily continue your journey by bus. There are direct connections several times a day from Belgrade bus station to Golubac, with a travel time of approximately 2 hours 14 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the provider and route. Thanks to regular departures and smooth connections, bus travel is a reliable option for the final stage of your journey to the Danube port.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation.
