Århus, Denmark's second-largest city, impresses with a modern cruise port that guarantees particularly short distances thanks to its central location at Pier 1 (Balticagade). While medium-sized ships dock directly at the city center, very large liners use the Omni-Terminal (Berth 503) about three kilometers away, which is perfectly connected to the center by free port shuttles.

Car

Via the E45 motorway, the journey from the German border at Flensburg takes only around two hours directly to Århus. The cruise terminal in Balticagade is excellently signposted and offers convenient parking options such as the parking garage in the Dokk1 cultural center or specialized parking areas in the port area, which provide secure long-term parking for the duration of the cruise.

Train

Aarhus H central station acts as a central hub with regular train connections from Hamburg, which cover the route via Fredericia in around four and a half hours. From there, travelers can reach the ship in a short, approximately five-minute taxi ride or use the pleasant, approximately 15-minute walk along the modern waterfront to arrive relaxed for embarkation.

Airplane

Air passengers reach the city via Aarhus Airport (AAR), which is located around 45 kilometers away, or via the large international Billund Airport (BLL) at a distance of about 95 kilometers. While Aarhus Airport is connected by the coordinated shuttle bus 925X, Billund offers an ideal alternative thanks to numerous direct connections from Frankfurt, Munich, or Zurich, from where the express bus 912X takes guests directly into the heart of Århus in around 90 minutes.

On Foot

Letbanen and Buses

The modern Letbanen light rail stops directly at the Dokk1 central hub, in the immediate vicinity of the cruise terminal. In addition, the yellow city buses complement the dense transport network and conveniently connect the port with more distant destinations such as the famous Den Gamle By open-air museum.

Taxi

Official taxis are available for you directly at the terminal grounds. The drivers will take you quickly to the city's museums and, thanks to the short distances, allow for a particularly flexible way to spend your stay in the city of smiles.

From the city center or the modern Århus Ø district, take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade and enjoy the fresh sea air on your direct way to the terminal. The route to Pier 1 is excellently signposted and, thanks to the level paths, easy to manage even with small purchases.

Taxi

Central taxi ranks are located at the main train station Århus H, directly in front of the striking Dokk1 cultural center, as well as at major hotels such as the Radisson Blu or Scandic. The cars are ready and waiting there to take you quickly and comfortably directly to your ship's terminal building, thanks to the short driving distances.

Shuttle Bus and Public Transport

Many cruise lines provide shuttle buses that depart from central meeting points such as Århus Dom or Dokk1 to take you safely back to your berth. In addition, the Letbanen light rail stops at Skolebakken station very close to the port entrance, offering a punctual connection for the final part of your return journey to the ship.
