Returning to the ship

Parry Sound, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Ontario, is a charming gateway to the waters of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. Travel from the DACH region is primarily via a combination of flight and subsequent transfer, with a pre-cruise overnight stay in the Toronto metropolitan area allowing for a relaxed start to the trip.

Airplane

The nearest international airport is Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), located about 220 kilometers south of Parry Sound. Numerous direct flights are available from Frankfurt, Munich, and Zurich. The driving time from Toronto to Parry Sound is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic.

Car

From Toronto, the main route leads via Highway 400 directly north toward Parry Sound. The route is well-developed and offers a pleasant drive through the Canadian countryside. Various parking options are available in Parry Sound itself, including short- and long-term parking near the harbor, which allows for convenient embarkation.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long flight time and the subsequent transfer distance, an overnight stay in Toronto on the day before your cruise is recommended. Numerous hotels near the airport or in the city center offer comfortable options to start the onward journey to Parry Sound well-rested. From there, you can reach the port in a relaxed manner by rental car or organized transfer on the day of embarkation.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and consider that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
