Venice Marco Polo International Airport (VCE) is located approximately 25 kilometers away and is regularly served by direct flights from all major cities in the DACH region. For the onward transfer to the terminal, we recommend the cruise lines' shuttle services or a taxi, which cover the distance in around 30 minutes and bring you comfortably to check-in.

Train & Transfer

Venezia Mestre station is the central arrival point for long-distance trains from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and is located only 12 kilometers from the port. From there, you can reach the Fusina terminal quickest by taxi or a transfer service; additionally, the Line 16 ferry connects the port in just 20 minutes with the Venice city center for guests with a pre-cruise hotel.

Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is mandatory for your embarkation. The Zattere Promenade

The sun-drenched Zattere Promenade in the authentic Dorsoduro district is easily accessible in about twenty minutes via the direct boat connection from Terminal Fusina and offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views over the Giudecca Canal. This expansive quay is perfect for a relaxed cultural day in Venice, as it lies away from the main tourist crowds and also delights with first-class cafés as well as the famous Gelateria Nico for an enjoyable break right by the water. Thanks to its location in the artists' quarter, you can also ideally reach the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the impressive Santa Maria della Salute church on a short walk from here. It is best to start your excursion in the morning to fully enjoy the peaceful morning atmosphere by the water, and take the boat back to Fusina no later than ninety minutes before departure to reach the port completely stress-free.

Returning to the ship

The return journey to the Terminal Fusina on the mainland can be arranged very reliably and comfortably thanks to the various connections by water and road. Plan about 30 to 45 minutes for the transfer from the Venetian city center to ensure you arrive on board relaxed and well before departure.

Ferries and Water Taxis

The most convenient connection from Venice is provided by the Line 16 ferry, which crosses directly from the Zattere stop in the Dorsoduro district to the Terminal Fusina. The boats operate at regular intervals and the pier in Fusina is only a few minutes' walk from the cruise terminal, making the way back to the ship particularly easy.

Taxi and Private Transfer

At Piazzale Roma, the central bus and taxi terminal at the edge of the old town, as well as at the Mestre train station, you will find taxis available at all times for a direct trip to the port. The journey across the bridge and the mainland is safe and, thanks to clear signage, will bring you directly to the departure terminal in Fusina within about 20 minutes.

Cruise Line Shuttle Buses

Many cruise lines offer convenient shuttle buses for the return to the ship, which often wait for guests at the Tronchetto parking area or at Piazzale Roma. These buses travel directly to the port and also ensure that you arrive on time for check-in at the terminal and can board directly without any personal navigation effort.
