Returning to the ship

Esperance is a charming port town on the south coast of Western Australia, known for its picturesque beaches and natural landscapes. Cruise ships anchor in the sheltered bay, and passengers are conveniently transported by tender boat to the centrally located Taylor Street Jetty. From there, you can reach the main streets with shops, cafes, and the visitor center in a short walk.

Airplane

Arrival from the DACH region is primarily by plane with a stopover in Perth (PER). From Perth, you can reach Esperance Airport (EPR) with regional flights from Regional Express (Rex). Esperance Airport is located about 22 to 23 kilometers northwest of the city center, which corresponds to a driving time of about 20 to 25 minutes. Taxis and private transfer services are available at the airport, although pre-booking is advisable. A taxi ride to the center costs approximately 45-60 AUD and takes around 19 minutes. In addition, there are airport shuttles offering a comfortable door-to-door connection.

Rental Car

A rental car is recommended for flexibility when exploring the breathtaking coastline and national parks. The drive from Perth to Esperance stretches over around 700 kilometers along the South Coast Highway (National Route 1) and takes about 7.5 to 8 hours. At Esperance Airport (EPR), you will find counters of well-known rental car companies directly in the arrival hall to receive your vehicle immediately after landing. Parking at Esperance Airport is free for both short-term and long-term parkers. In the port area of Esperance, parking is also available in a main parking lot 200 meters from the terminal, with costs of around £15 per day or £75 per week.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long journey from the DACH region and the need for a connecting flight within Australia, an overnight stay in Esperance or Perth on the day before embarkation is highly recommended. This allows for a relaxed start to your cruise. In Esperance, you will find a selection of hotels and motels, many of them within easy walking distance of the city center and the Taylor Street Jetty. There you can explore local attractions and prepare optimally for your trip.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as berthing and departure times can change at short notice.
