Port Information
Geiranger is considered the jewel of the Norwegian fjords and is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site of incomparable beauty. Arrival by car leads via the Norwegian Scenic Route 63, which accesses the village from the north via the famous Eagle Road (Ørnevegen) with its eleven hairpin bends or from the south via the Dalsnibba mountain pass. Parking facilities for short and long-term parkers are available directly in the compact village center in the immediate vicinity of the pier and the Geiranger Fjordservice; additionally, due to the winding routes, a relaxed arrival with an overnight stay the day before is recommended.
Bahn & Bus
For train travelers, the journey on the Rauma Railway to the terminus at Åndalsnes is an ideal starting point for onward travel into the fjord region. In the summer months from June to September, special connecting buses (Line 220) operate from there, taking passengers via the spectacular Trollstigen pass road and the Eagle Bend directly to the port, thus perfectly combining rail travel and sightseeing.

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. The village center and tourist facilities can be reached in just about 5 minutes walking time. You can reach the heart of Geiranger directly and comfortably via the modern SeaWalk, a floating gangway, or the tender boat pier.

The light blue Hop-On Hop-Off buses as well as special panorama buses to the viewpoints are available directly at the pier. On Foot
From the village center, the local shops, or the Norsk Fjordsenter, you can easily walk back to the pier via well-maintained paths. Particularly charming is the descent via the stairs of the Waterfall Walk (Fossevandring), which ends directly at the harbor and offers easy orientation.
Excursion and Shuttle Buses
