On balmy evenings, many people sit on the quay wall and enjoy the illuminated houses of Havana, which are reflected in the sea. In the old town of Habana Vieja, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the roads, which are partly preserved in their original state, will take you to Havana's San Cristobal Cathedral, built in the 18th century from a former chapel. Cuba sights

If you want to find out more about the story of the revolutionary Che Guevara, the Revolution Museum is the place to visit for you. He was leader of the Cuban rebels for many years and is still considered to be their most important face. In the museum you can also admire the famous Granma boat, which was once used by Cuban rebels under the leadership of Fidel Castro to travel from Mexico to the island.

In addition to impressive historic buildings, Cuba also has wonderful beaches and unique nature to offer. The well-known beach of Varadero awaits you on the Hicacos peninsula. The turquoise-blue water forms the perfect backdrop for your souvenir photos of white powdered sugar beaches in front of the palm trees. Spend several days on your trip to Cuba and take a sightseeing boat to Cayo Coco. The small island off the north coast of Cuba also has beautiful sandy beaches and at the same time offers an insight into the life of sea turtles in their natural environment. While snorkeling, you will discover the coral reefs off the island.

The city of Trinidad is still strongly influenced by the Spanish colonial era and offers a backdrop of colourful houses in front of the mountains of the Sierra del Escambay.

Typically Cuba

To Cuba, a sense of revolution somehow belongs. Maybe during your Cuban cruise, you can make your own, tiny revolution by dressing up, dancing to loud music or smoking one of the real Cuban cigars. But you can also just enjoy a fine Cuban coffee that grows here on the plantations inland and tastes as fresh as you can get.  The coffee or sugar cane plantations in Cuba are also worth a visit. Here you can meet the locals, learn about the work on the plantations and maybe even help with the harvest.

When should you plan your cruise to Cuba?

Cuba cruises are generally possible throughout the whole year. During the Cuban Summer, the dry season, which lasts from November to April, the temperatures rise to 35 ° Celsius. The gentle wind that blows from the sea can make it feel a little cooler. The rainy season is from May to October. But that does not mean that it rains constantly in Cuba. There are about 200 days of sunshine a year in Cuba, so the cruise lines offer boat trips to Cuba in all seasons. But if you want to avoid the hurricanes, you should refrain from cruises in September / October. Otherwise, Cuba is an ideal destination for your cruise, with its sun rich beaches and cultural assets.
