The German tour operator Phoenix Reisen was founded in 1973. In 1988 they chartered the Maxim Gorkiy and started sailing the oceans. At the beginning Phoenix Reisen was a pure high sea cruise line but expanded its range in 1993 to include the popular river cruises. Only a few ships have as many regular customers as the ships of Phoenix Reisen. Thanks to the friendly and familiar atmosphere on board also new customers and cruise newcomers feel at home . In addition to the ocean-going vessels, there are a few smaller vessels for exceptional sailing and numerous river boats. Language on board of the Phoenix ships is German.

There are only outside cabins aboard the MS Amadea. All cabins are designed cozy, stylish and spacious with at least 16 m²in size. The equipment consists of a satellite TV, individually adjustable air conditioning, telephone, minibar, safe and hairdryer. From October 2108 the bathrooms will all have a shower instead of a small bathtub. 140 cabins and suites on the Lido, Jupiter and Panorama Deck have a private balcony / veranda. Upon request, the cabin service will serve drinks, snacks and breakfast in your cabin. In the upscale cabin categories and suites, silver or gold service is available.

The dress code aboard the Amadea is casual. Elegant and festive clothing is only recommended for festivities such as the Captain's Dinner. Please kindly note that wearing swimwear or sportwear is not allowed in the public areas inside the ship. For the shore excursions, we recommend comfortable clothing and shoes.

For culinary enjoyment, there are two main restaurants of equal value on board the MS Amadea with a total of 620 seats. In the main restaurants there is a free choice of seating and a common table time. 

The following restaurants are already included in the price:

• Vier Jahreszeiten (main restaurant): Here you can enjoy free juices and table wine with the multi-course lunch and dinner.
• Amadea (main restaurant): Free juices and table wine are served with the multi-course lunch and dinner.
• Pichler's (Specialty restaurant): Taste delicious specialties starting in May 2024.

In good weather, you can also enjoy your breakfast and lunch on the Lido terrace.

In addition to the restaurants, there are also several lounges and bars (not included) on board. For example, listen to live music in Harry's Bar or enjoy a freshly tapped beer in the Kopernikus Bar.

Everything that body, mind and soul need for a successful holiday can be found aboard the M/S Amadea. Comfortable sun loungers on the outer decks invite you to sunbathe and relax, activities such as shuffleboard or golf provide variety on deck while you can live out your creativity at craft or painting classes. For active athletes, the fitness center is the right place to power up. Afterwards you will find relaxation and recreation in the spa area. In the evening you can enjoy great shows and performances in the theater after which you can end the evening with a drink in the bar.
