Highlights in the surrounding area include the historic church Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rosário as well as the picturesque Fajã de Lopo Vaz and the famous waterfalls of Poço da Alagoinha. Cruise ships dock at the centrally located Porto de Lajes das Flores, from where the village center is easily accessible on foot and which also serves as an ideal starting point for tours to the island's mystical crater lakes.
The port of Lajes das Flores on the westernmost Azorean island of Flores is a charming destination that requires a well-planned journey from the DACH region. The port is conveniently located on the southeast coast of the island, only about 200 meters from the village, and offers parking directly at the harbor. However, as the port is expected to be under renovation until 2028, berths and anchorages are limited.
Airplane
Travel from the DACH region is primarily via flights to the larger Azorean islands of São Miguel (Ponta Delgada Airport, PDL) or Terceira (Lajes Field Airport, TER). From there, convenient connecting flights with SATA Air Açores are available to Flores Airport (FLW), which is located only about 2 kilometers from the port in Lajes das Flores. Direct flights to Flores are also available from Horta (Faial) and Corvo.
Rental Car & Transfer
At Flores Airport (FLW), rental car providers such as Sixt (in partnership with Ilha Verde) and Europcar are available directly upon arrival, allowing you to explore the island flexibly and manage the short trip to the port. Alternatively, you can reach the port of Lajes das Flores by taxi in about 20 minutes for approximately 24 to 29 euros. Numerous local transfer services also offer private or shared shuttles that conveniently take you from the airport to the port or your accommodation.

Due to the longer journey from the DACH region, which usually requires a stopover on another Azorean island, as well as the limited flight capacities to the smaller island of Flores, an overnight stay in a pre-cruise hotel is recommended.
