Adventurous guests also use the world's only cross-border zipline to cross the river at high speed while experiencing two countries in a single day in a spectacular way.
Praia Fluvial do Pego Fundo
The Praia Fluvial do Pego Fundo is easily accessible from the ship pier in about a ten-minute walk and offers an idyllic oasis with fine sand and refreshing water. Thanks to the first-class infrastructure with shaded straw umbrellas, showers, and a charming beach bar, you can enjoy an excellent break amidst the green hills of the hinterland. This location is perfectly suited for a relaxed swim and also offers a peaceful atmosphere that is ideal for unwinding. It is best to visit the beach directly in the morning to secure an ideal spot in the shade, and return to the ship in a relaxed manner no later than sixty minutes before departure.

On Foot
From the historic center or the Castelo de Alcoutim, you can easily reach the pier on Avenida Duarte Pacheco in a few minutes on foot. The path from the idyllic river beach Praia Fluvial do Pego Fundo also leads you back to the ship in about 15 minutes directly along the shore and also offers excellent orientation thanks to the masts on the quay wall, which are always visible.
Passenger Ferry
If you have spent time in the neighboring Spanish town of Sanlúcar de Guadiana on the other side of the river, simply use the small passenger ferries for the regular crossing of the river. These boats dock directly in the heart of Alcoutim, and the short walk to the cruise pier is completed within a few moments and completely without complication thanks to the central location on the quay.
Taxi
For journeys from the surrounding area or in the case of limited mobility, you will find taxis at the central square Praça da República near the church and the post office. The drivers are familiar with the river cruise ship docking points and, thanks to the short distances within the village, will bring you punctually and directly to the shore area of your ship.
