Auto

You can reach Zutphen comfortably via the Dutch motorways A12 and A50. Coming from Germany, you can reach the city directly via the A50 and the N345. Parking options for short- and long-term parking are available in Zutphen, for example in the multi-storey car park of the Gelre Hospital or at the Q-Park P+R Station Zutphen, which offers 375 parking spaces. The berths are easily accessible from these parking facilities.

Bahn

Zutphen railway station is an important regional rail hub and offers good connections within the Netherlands as well as connections to the German rail network, often with a change of trains in Arnhem. Most berths for river cruises, especially in the Noorderhaven area, are located in the immediate vicinity of the main railway station and are easily accessible within walking distance.

Flugzeug

For international guests, Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS), Düsseldorf (DUS) or Weeze (NRN) airports are suitable options. Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) is around 100 kilometres away and offers the best connectivity. From there, you can reach Zutphen by train, usually with a change at Arnhem Centraal, in about 1 hour and 49 minutes. Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) is approximately 103 kilometres away. Due to the travel time, it is recommended for air travelers to arrive one day before embarkation in order to start your cruise experience relaxed.

The Medieval Librije and the Towers of Zutphen

The historic Walburgiskerk with its famous Librije is located only about a ten-minute walk from the pier at the IJsselkade and offers one of the most fascinating cultural experiences in the Netherlands. In this chained library from the 16th century, which is unique worldwide, valuable writings are still chained to their original lecterns today, creating an incomparable medieval atmosphere. Thanks to its central location, the visit can be perfectly combined with a stroll through the picturesque alleys and to the hidden "hofjes" such as the Oude Bornhof. The old town also offers first-class cafés around the market square for a relaxing break. Ideally, start your shore excursion around 11:00 AM, when the church opens its doors, to take part in one of the first guided tours of the library and to return to the ship on time and relaxed in the afternoon.

Returning to the ship

The return journey to the pier at the IJsselkade is extremely straightforward and safe, thanks to the city's central location. You can reach your ship within a few minutes and enjoy the picturesque backdrop of the Hanseatic city until departure.

On Foot

Since the mooring points are located directly at the IJsselkade, you can easily stroll back to the riverbank in 5 to 10 minutes from the marketplace or the historic Drogenapstoren. The path leads through the charming alleys of the old town and is easy to find thanks to the prominent line of sight to the IJssel and the clear signage.

Taxi

For a quick return, you will find a taxi rank directly at Zutphen station at Stationsplein, as well as at central locations on the edge of the pedestrian zone. In addition, staff at hotels such as the Hampshire Hotel 's Gravenhof will gladly call a vehicle for you, ensuring you cover the short distance to the port punctually and comfortably.

Local Bus Services

Regional bus lines centrally serve the bus station at Stationsplein, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the riverbank. Thanks to the short distances, a short walk from there will take you directly to your ship, getting you back safely on board in no time.
