Zaandam is a charming gem in the province of North Holland and impresses with its immediate proximity to the world-famous city of Amsterdam. The city welcomes its visitors with a fascinating blend of industrial heritage, modern architecture, and the typical Dutch waterfront flair. Zaandam is a major starting point for river cruises and impresses with its immediate proximity to the metropolis of Amsterdam. The docking points at the Zaankade or in the harbor area are quick and comfortable to reach thanks to the region's excellent infrastructure.
Car
Travelers from the DACH region can reach Zaandam easily via the A7 or A8 motorways, which lead directly into the city area and allow for easy orientation. Train
Zaandam station is very centrally located and is served at high frequencies by trains from Amsterdam Centraal as well as directly from Schiphol Airport. The journey from Amsterdam takes only about 12 minutes, and from the station, travelers can easily reach the docking points by taxi or after a short walk through the city center, depending on the ship's position.
Airplane
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) is the most important hub in the region and is located only about 20 kilometers south of Zaandam. From there, guests can reach Zaandam station in about 20 minutes by train without changing, or use a taxi via the A10 ring motorway for a direct transfer to the ship, which guarantees a stress-free arrival.
