The picturesque Plage des Sablettes is located just a few minutes' walk from the pier in the old harbor and impresses with its crystal-clear water and direct views of the famous pastel-colored rows of houses in the old town. This well-maintained stretch of beach offers an excellent infrastructure with superb beach clubs, public showers, and an adjacent promenade full of inviting restaurants and cafes. Thanks to its sheltered location in the bay, you can enjoy a particularly calm atmosphere here, which is ideal for a refreshing swim and pure relaxation right at the foot of the historical backdrop. It is best to start your visit in the morning to secure a prime spot near the sea, and return to the ship relaxed at least ninety minutes before departure.
The return journey to Quai Napoléon III in the old port is extremely straightforward and relaxed thanks to the central location directly by the picturesque old town. This ensures you reach your ship safely and punctually before the departure of the tender boats or casting off from the quay.
On Foot
From the alleys of the old town or the popular promenade at Plage des Sablettes, you can walk along the water to the harbor area in just a few minutes. The path is level, offers excellent orientation at the striking Bastion, and leads you directly past the Jean-Cocteau-Museum back to the harbor entrance.
Taxi
Central taxi ranks are located at Place Saint-Roch and directly in front of the main entrance of the Menton-Ville train station. Additionally, the renowned hotels along the waterfront reliably arrange rides to the harbor, ensuring a comfortable transfer in warm temperatures or after a long city walk.
Local Buses
The lines of the Zest transport network connect the outskirts and beaches with the city center and stop in the immediate vicinity of the Vieux Port. Thanks to the short intervals of Line 1, you can reach the harbor area quickly from the western waterfront and plan your return to the berth flexibly.
