Port information & tips for Le Havre
Le Havre is the gateway to Normandy and a fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site on the French Alabaster Coast. The port city impresses with its unique architecture, maritime charm, and wide avenues leading directly to the English Channel. Special highlights include the striking Église Saint-Joseph with its far-reaching tower, the futuristic Le Volcan cultural center, and the renowned MuMa art museum with its impressive collection of Impressionist works. Cruise ships dock at the Terminal de la Pointe de Floride, from where the vibrant city center is easily accessible thanks to short distances and regular shuttle connections; additionally, a roughly 20-minute walk along the quays offers a first magnificent view of the sea.

Car
Via the A13 and A131 motorways from the direction of Paris or the A29 from the north, you can reach the port area directly. Secure parking for the duration of the cruise is available directly at the terminal; additionally, the journey is straightforward thanks to clear Port de Croisière signage and leads to check-in without major detours.
Train
From the Gare du Havre station, there are regular direct connections to the Paris Saint-Lazare station, making travel by TGV or ICE via the French capital attractive. For the short transfer to the terminal approximately two kilometers away, taxis and local shuttle services are available at the station exit, bringing guests directly to the ship in a few minutes.
Airplane & Transfer
Arrival from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland primarily occurs via Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) or Orly (ORY) airports, which are located around 200 kilometers away. Many cruise lines offer coordinated shuttle buses directly from the airport to the ship; furthermore, rental cars or long-distance bus connections allow for a flexible journey with a travel time of approximately two to two and a half hours.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and consider that the latest embarkation time – depending on the cruise line and destination – is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
