Lifou is the largest of the Loyalty Islands in New Caledonia and welcomes travelers with untouched nature and warm Melanesian culture. Located in the picturesque Baie du Santal, the island impresses with powdery white sand beaches, rugged limestone cliffs, and crystal-clear water that invites relaxation. Highlights include the historic chapel Notre Dame de Lourdes on a lookout hill and the snorkeling paradise Jinek Bay, which is considered a natural aquarium thanks to its coral splendor. Cruise ships anchor in the bay, while guests arrive at the Easo Jetty via tender boat. From this central landing point in the village of Easo, the most important sights and the lively local market are easily accessible within a few minutes' walk.

Airplane
Travel from the DACH region is via long-haul connections to Nouméa-La Tontouta International Airport (NOU), usually with stopovers in Singapore or Tokyo. From Magenta Regional Airport (GEA) in Nouméa, you can reach Lifou Airport (LIF) with Air Calédonie in a flight time of about 40 minutes and from there reach the port area in Easo in around 20 minutes by shuttle or taxi.
Transfer & Ferry
A maritime alternative for arrival is provided by the high-speed ferry Betico 2, which runs regularly between the Port of Nouméa and the Port of Wé on Lifou. The crossing takes approximately five to six hours and offers travelers the opportunity to enjoy the island world of New Caledonia from the water during the journey and arrive relaxed at their destination.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long distance and the time difference, a stay of at least two days in Nouméa or directly on Lifou is recommended before the planned boarding. Local accommodations and bungalow complexes near the Bay of Easo allow for a stress-free start to the cruise and also offer the opportunity to explore Polynesian culture and nature without time pressure.
Check-in & Embarkation
