Arrival from the DACH region is convenient by plane to the island's international airport, from where a smooth onward journey to Saint-Pierre is guaranteed.
Airplane
Arrival to Martinique is via Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (FDF) near Fort-de-France. Direct flights from the DACH region are rare; instead, there are good connections via Paris with airlines such as Air France, Air Caraïbes, or Corsair. A flight time of over eight hours is common, and arrival usually takes place in the afternoon or evening.
Transfer from the Airport
Martinique Aimé Césaire Airport (FDF) is located approximately 41 to 47 kilometers from Saint-Pierre. The drive along the picturesque coastal roads, such as the N2, takes around 48 minutes thanks to good transport links. Taxis and private shuttle services are available for the transfer, often offering fixed prices and thus enabling a comfortable direct journey. Arrival by bus is also possible but usually requires transfers.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight time from the DACH region, a relaxed arrival with an overnight stay in a pre-cruise hotel on Martinique is highly recommended. This allows you to start embarkation well-rested and without time pressure, while also gathering your first impressions of the island.
