Since Fakarava is a classic tender port, boats bring guests directly to the central pier at Quai de Rotoava. From this pier, the picturesque village center can be easily explored on foot, while the dreamlike beaches, thanks to their immediate proximity, simultaneously invite you to snorkel and linger.

Airplane
Travel from the DACH region is primarily via long-haul flight to Faa'a International Airport (PPT) in Papeete on Tahiti. From there, a domestic flight with a local airline such as Air Tahiti or Air Moana takes approximately 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes to reach Fakarava Airport (FAV) directly. The distance is roughly 375 to 488 kilometers. Early booking of domestic flights is strongly recommended as capacities can be limited.
Transfer on Fakarava
Fakarava Airport (FAV) is located on the main island but away from the center of Rotoava. There is no public shuttle service; instead, most accommodations and cruise lines organize a suitable transfer from the airport to your respective destination or to the tender pier in the village. The tender pier in Rotoava is ideally situated, allowing you to reach shops and local providers comfortably on foot.
Pre-Cruise Hotel & Travel Planning
Due to the long international journey, we recommend staying overnight in a pre-cruise hotel on Tahiti. This allows for a relaxed start to your cruise vacation and provides a buffer for potential flight delays before you continue your journey to Fakarava. Check-in & Embarkation
