Airplane
The international Salvador-Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães Airport (SSA) is located approximately 28 kilometers northeast of the terminal and is regularly served from Europe with convenient connections via Lisbon, Madrid, or São Paulo. Thanks to the good frequency of international airlines such as TAP Air Portugal or LATAM, you can reach the Bahian capital safely and comfortably from Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, or Zurich.
Transfer & Taxi
The easiest way to get from the airport to the port is by licensed airport taxis or a pre-booked shuttle service from your cruise line. The travel time via the well-developed Avenida Paralela is approximately 45 to 60 minutes depending on the time of day, while modern ride-sharing apps like Uber also represent a reliable and attractively priced alternative for a direct journey to the terminal building.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight time and the time difference, we recommend arriving at least one day before embarkation and staying overnight in the Pelourinho or Barra districts. Many hotels in these history-steeped neighborhoods offer an ideal starting point to visit the famous Elevador Lacerda and to reach the cruise terminal relaxed within just 10 to 15 minutes by car the next morning.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time – depending on the cruise line and destination area – is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
