Cruise ships usually dock at a floating pier near the city center, providing convenient access to the city.
Airplane
For international guests, the route to Parintins usually goes through Manaus International Airport (MAO), which serves as an important hub for Amazon cruises and is accessible from Europe with connecting flights. Domestic flights from Manaus are available with airlines such as Azul to the local Parintins Airport (PIN). The flight takes about 1 hour and 10 to 28 minutes. Parintins Airport (Júlio Belém Airport) is a small regional airport with basic amenities.
Transfer (Flight & River)
From Manaus Airport (MAO), you can either take a direct flight to Parintins Airport (PIN) or cover the distance of around 380 kilometers by river. Fast ferries ("Lanchas Ajato") connect Manaus and Parintins in about 7 to 10 hours, while the journey with regional passenger boats can take up to 18-24 hours. Upon arrival in Parintins, whether at the airport or the Terminal Hidroviário, the main pier for cruise ships, you can easily reach the city center on foot thanks to the central location of the port. Local tricycle taxis are available at the pier.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long journey from the DACH region and the need for connecting flights, an overnight stay in Manaus or Parintins before the cruise is highly recommended. This allows for a relaxed arrival and also offers the opportunity to gather first impressions of the fascinating Amazon region before your cruise begins. In Parintins, you will find various hotels near the "Orla de Parintins" and the city center.
Check-in & Embarkation
