Novo Airão, located in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon, serves as a unique starting point for unforgettable river cruises and is primarily accessible via the metropolis of Manaus. Since this is a travel route into a remote region, a well-planned trip with suitable transfers is recommended.

Airplane

Travel from the DACH region usually takes place via Manaus International Airport (MAO), which offers direct connections to major Brazilian cities as well as international links. From there, Novo Airão is still about 200 kilometers away. Due to the long journey from Europe, plan an overnight stay in Manaus or Novo Airão before the start of your river cruise.

Transfer & Shuttle

From Manaus Airport (MAO) or a hotel in Manaus, you can reach Novo Airão comfortably by private transfer or taxi in about 3 to 3.5 hours. Many cruise providers or jungle lodges organize air-conditioned vehicle transfers, which allows for a relaxed onward journey through the Amazon landscape on the AM-352. A faster, albeit more exclusive option, is the transfer by seaplane, which covers the distance in about 50 minutes and offers breathtaking views over the Amazon.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Given the long flight times and the onward journey to Novo Airão, an overnight stay before embarkation is highly recommended. Numerous hotels in Manaus offer comfortable stays from which transfers can be organized. Alternatively, you can relax directly in Novo Airão in one of the charming lodges, such as the Mirante do Gavião Amazon Lodge, and get in the perfect mood for your Amazon adventure.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the shipping company and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
