Cruise port Manaus
Manaus, the "Paris of the Tropics," is a unique cruise port deep in the Amazon region and the gateway to unforgettable river adventures. Your ship will dock at Porto Flutuante, a floating pier directly in the historic city center, allowing you to explore the sights conveniently. Due to the long journey from the DACH region, a relaxed arrival at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended.
Airplane
Manaus–Eduardo Gomes International Airport (MAO) is the nearest airport and is located about 13 to 14 kilometers from the cruise port. Direct flights from Europe are rare; travel from the DACH region usually involves major hubs such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), or Panama City (Copa Airlines) and Miami. Plan sufficient time for entry and transfer to make your cruise start in the Amazon metropolis stress-free.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Manaus–Eduardo Gomes International Airport (MAO), you can reach the port and hotels comfortably by taxi or ridesharing services in about 18 minutes. Private transfer providers are also available and offer comfortable and safe transport directly to your hotel or ship. As a cost-effective alternative, the public bus line 306 runs every 30 minutes from the airport to the city center (Terminal Matriz) with a travel time of around 27 minutes.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Given the long intercontinental flights to Manaus, an overnight stay before embarkation is highly advisable to avoid jet lag and start your journey refreshed. Numerous hotels can be found both near the airport and in the city center of Manaus. Especially centrally located hotels offer the advantage that many main attractions, such as the famous Teatro Amazonas and the port, are within walking distance.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time – depending on the cruise line and destination – is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The following also applies during the journey: For shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
