The port of Maceió in northeastern Brazil impresses with its modern Terminal Marítimo de Passageiros in the historic Jaraguá district. Thanks to its central location, guests can reach the tourist highlights and the dreamlike city beaches from the ship in just a few minutes.
Airplane
Zumbi dos Palmares International Airport (MCZ) is located approximately 25 kilometers from the cruise terminal and serves as the most important gateway for travelers from the DACH region. Arrival usually takes place via the major Brazilian hubs such as São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro as well as via Lisbon and takes about 45 to 60 minutes from the airport to the port. The route leads via the well-developed BR-104 highway directly into the urban area of Maceió.
Transfer & Taxi
Numerous air-conditioned taxis and ride-sharing services are available at the airport and throughout the city for the journey to the ship. In addition, many cruise lines offer comfortable shuttle services that take passengers directly from the arrival terminal to the port entrance in Jaraguá. Thanks to the terminal infrastructure expanded in 2022, processing on site is quick and at the same time very service-oriented.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight duration and the time difference, arriving at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended. The popular hotel districts of Pajuçara and Ponta Verde are located only about 5 to 10 minutes' drive from the port and offer an excellent tourist infrastructure. A stay in advance also allows for a relaxed visit to the famous natural pools located just off the coast of Maceió.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The following also applies during the journey: For shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times may change at short notice.
