The typical orange and white taxis are available at all times throughout the city and at the central market, the Sur Souq. You will also find reliable drivers at the entrances of larger hotels, such as the Sur Plaza Hotel, who will take you comfortably and directly back to the port gate.
Shuttle Bus
Cruise lines often provide comfortable shuttle buses that run between the port terminal and a central drop-off point near the dhow shipyard or the souq. These buses offer a reliable return option and, thanks to frequent departures, take you directly to the ship's security area.
On Foot and Orientation
A walk along the Sur Corniche provides excellent orientation, as the prominent Khor Al Batah Suspension Bridge and the Al Ayjah Lighthouse are visible from many points. Since the actual port is a protected industrial area, the walking path ideally leads to the shuttle meeting point or taxi stand, from where the onward journey to the ship is simple and quick.
